1) I have a foreign degree / I am unsure as to whether my degree satisfies the minimum entry requirements. How can I be certain I am eligible for the Masters Programme?

You can have an academic evaluation of your titles by writing in English to the course coordinator (mefi@eco.unipv.it). You should provide (in English) a detailed list of the courses taken at your university and the number of hours of study acquired for each course. You should also attach this Excel file, completed with all the exams from the transcript, divided and grouped by different subject areas (already specified in the file).

2) Should I have some knowledge of Italian?

Italian is not necessary for the course, as lectures and all related activities are in English. However, it would be advantageous to have some knowledge of Italian for your daily life in Italy.

3) What level of English is required?

5 ECTS in the English Language are required. Otherwise, you should provide an international certification attesting a knowledge equal or higher than the B2 level of the Common European Framework (First Certificate in English). For example, a TOEFL certificate with an iBT total score of B2 level (87-109) or higher is considered equal to the level B2 of the Common European Framework. If you do not hold an international certification you will have your English level tested with an interview.

4) Is there an interview?

Students holding an Italian qualification failing to reach the minimum entry requirements must pass an admission test with the Admission Committe, which nomrally takes place in September. A second possibility to take an admission test and then join the course takes place in February. Students holding a foreign degree have to follow a different procedure: they have to apply on-line and then pass an interview via skype.

For further infromation please check the section How to apply.

5) What are the fees to be paid?

Fees are defined on a yearly basis between April and June. A tuition fee and a registration fee must be paid.

Tuition fees are variable, depending on the student’s financial status. For the Academic year 2014/2015 MEFI students are eilgible for a discount on tuition fees, please check the following link.

An additional fixed fee covering registration, regional tax and fixed stamp duties has to be paid, which is in the region of 440 euros.
